Some photos to document moving from the basement at home to the new shop, the highlight of which was the moving of the lathe with a large crane. Lathes being top-heavy are challenging to move safely & I’d hired a rigger to deliver the lathe when I bought it, so it was logical to call the same rigger later when I needed to move it. I was able to move all of the other equipment myself, staging it in the garage before the big day. The lathe was the last item to be brought up. That summer and fall I was lucky to find a pair of little forklifts, one for each end of the move with the one at home being sold after the garage was emptied out. Moral of the story: machinetools are heavy, don’t put them down the basement!
